Restorative and Yoga Nidra

I completed an immersive residential Yoga Nidra training with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli in 2011 and consider it an honour to have been part of the first group who qualified in a contemporary approach to an ancient practice. Visit the site below for more helpful information, news of classes and teachers.

I am a registered Relax and Renew® teacher of Restorative Yoga trained by Judith Lasater.

Restorative Yoga uses props to support the body in modified versions of classic sitting and lying yoga postures. It is deeply restful and relaxing – giving you energy rather than requiring you to expend energy. The poses improve circulation and breathing and send a powerful message to the nervous system, encouraging the body and mind to slow down and enter a truly restful state, where healing can take place.

This kind of yoga is helpful if you are recovering from illness, on medication, or are simply in need of some time and space for yourself.

Testimonial from professional Soprano Ilona Domnich:

‘I had one -to-one tuition with Alexandra and found her teaching, pace and attitude simply wonderful. I felt very safe in her hands and sensed almost immediately the benefits of the sessions. She guided me through deep relaxation to strengthening the core and into flexible imaginative centring of the body and mind. I found yoga especially useful, as I am an opera singer and work a lot on breathing, relaxation and energising of the body and mind, and Alexandra is a perfect teacher for it. I can highly recommend her’
